What to expect...
We understand that seeking therapy for the first time can make you feel nervous - it's normal to be anxious around the unknown. That's why we offer a 30 minute, free, no obligation appointment so that we can meet each other and explain a bit more about how we work. Should you wish to book your first session after this, we may ask you to complete an assessment form prior to attending which helps you to think about what you would like to bring to the session and helps us to make sure we offer you the most appropriate counsellor.
During your session you'll be encouraged to talk about your feelings and you'll be supported, without judgement. Our aim is to help you better understand what's going on for you and your thought processes around this, and ultimately find your own solutions to problems.

It might be that you only feel the need for a few sessions but there are occasions where longer term therapy may be required. Frequency of sessions will vary and can be agreed at your first session, however, no more than one session per week is recommended as you will need time to process everything between sessions.
It can take a number of sessions before you recognise progress, but your therapist will check in with you intermittently to make sure that you feel you're getting what you need.
